  • No bureaucracy, no red tape, decisions get made and acted on in weeks not quarters
  • Rabid fan base with thousands of customers buying 7+ times, which few brands can claim

Why This Job — FINANCIAL PLANNER & ANALYST

This is an opportunity to join a growing outdoor apparel company right here in Bozeman to help them build out their FP&A division. You'll be working side by side with the CEO and COO to bring their FP&A in-house and create strategic financials that will help this company thrive.

This is a real mix of FP&A, modeling, cash flow management, and translation. The team has the data, but they need someone who can turn their wall of numbers into something that can drive real decisions such as customer profitability, product margin, marketing channel ROI, budgets/forecasts, LRP, and inventory planning.

This is a true first FP&A build out for the company. On the accounting side you'll be partnering with outside firms and consultants, but you'll be building a lot of the models from scratch here. If you are looking to get away from a 40-page close checklist and get creative with helping a business grow, this is the role for you.

What You'll Actually Do:

  • Own all financial planning and analysis, short-term cash management through long-term 3-to-5-year roadmap work
  • Build proper financial models from the ground up (current state is a patchwork of spreadsheets) with real in-house knowledge of how the business runs
  • Forecast inventory, the single biggest cash in/cash out driver in the business
  • Run the annual budgeting process and partner with department leads on their budgets
  • Digest financial reporting from the outside accounting firm and turn it into something the CEO and COO can actually use
  • Dig into customer profitability, product margin, marketing channel performance, and wholesale margin
  • Reinforce and build out the chart of accounts, reporting structures, and bill pay workflows
  • Sit at the table for big calls on market expansion, new channel investment, and capital allocation
  • Work directly with the head of HR, the acquisition lead, the wholesale lead, and the warehouse on cross-functional financial questions

What You Bring:

  • 3+ years of FP&A experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Ecommerce or a related field (CPA and/or MBA a giant plus, but not required)
  • Comfortable building out models and reports from scratch instead of updating inherited models
  • Strong financial modeling chops and the ability to build something real in Excel or Sheets from a blank page
  • A communication style that can translate numbers for a product-and-design-obsessed CEO and also hold your own with data-forward folks across the company
  • Bonus points for apparel or other direct-to-consumer ecommerce experience (backpacks not required)
  • Familiarity with ERPs and other finance tools. We use Xero
  • Bonus points for Shopify experience
  • The personality to thrive in a small, fluid, social, product-obsessed environment where the day can shift on a customer trend you spotted three weeks ago

Where and How Much:

  • Location: Onsite in Bozeman, MT. Occasionally some room to work hybrid/remote.
  • Compensation: $90K to $110K
  • Benefits: Company-sponsored medical, dental, and vision (employer covers ~50% of dental and vision), 401(k) with 4% match, PTO
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour days with flexible start between 8 AM and 6 PM, but nobody is monitoring the clock here.

Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate
