You’ll drive accurate invoicing, tight work-in-progress tracking, and strong cash flow management. Working closely with ownership, you'll help bring more structure to the finance function by documenting and streamlining AR/AP processes, and producing clear, reliable reporting from QuickBooks. This is a high-autonomy position for someone who can bring clarity, practicality, and construction accounting know-how to a team that's ready to level up its processes without overcomplicating how the business runs.

What You'll Actually Do:

  • Manage month-end and year-end close processes
  • Own customer invoicing from start to finish, including billing for change orders
  • Track and manage lien waivers and other job billing requirements
  • Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and project status on an ongoing basis
  • Maintain strong accounts receivable follow-up with general contractors and customers
  • Coordinate and process weekly payroll
  • Support sales tax tracking and reporting needs
  • Ensure subcontractor/vendor invoices are received and recorded in a timely manner
  • Build and maintain clear, accurate Excel-based tracking tools
  • Work in QuickBooks Online to manage day-to-day accounting activities and produce practical, reliable reports
  • Review, document, and streamline A/R and A/P processes

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:

  • 5+ years of construction accounting experience
  • Hands-on experience with lien waivers and other job billing compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and strong Excel skills
  • Comfortable working with constructions platforms
  • Experience monitoring Work In Progress (WIP)
  • A process-improvement mindset
  • Strong discretion and professionalism
  • Clear communicator who can translate accounting details to leaders
