What's Awesome About Our Client?

  • 75 Years of Excellence: Join a premier commercial manufacturer with deep roots in Denver and the massive backing of a global food service distribution and manufacturing holding company.
  • Holistic Visibility: This is an on-site, highly collaborative plant environment where you can see the business holistically. You will work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, IT, procurement, and manufacturing.
  • Major ERP Exposure: Help lead the charge as the company transitions to Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
  • Empowered Mentorship: Work directly under a collaborative, supportive Controller who acts as a working manager and focuses on empowering his team rather than micromanaging.

Why this job – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT:

Join this premier manufacturer as their Senior Accountant to act as the Controller's right hand. This newly open role is designed for someone who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment rather than being pigeonholed. You will bridge the gap between plant-floor manufacturing operations and corporate commercial activities (sales rebates, pricing, commissions). If you are a motivated professional who wants to build a diverse professional portfolio with the stability of a global parent company, this is the perfect career move.

What You'll Actually Do:

  • Drive Cost Accounting: Take ownership of standard costing, cost rolls, inventory valuations, cost of goods sold analysis, and variance analysis.
  • Partner with Operations: Partner closely with Supply Chain, Quality, and Planning teams to minimize excess and obsolete inventory, and play a key role in the annual physical inventory.
  • Manage Commercial Programs: Calculate and administer sales-related rebates, commissions, and price support programs for distributors and buying groups.
  • GL & Close Support: Support the full-cycle general ledger process by completing bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparing month-end journal entries.
  • CapEx & Assets: Manage capital expenditures, maintain fixed asset ledgers, and assist with payroll processing and related GL postings as needed.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of general accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Cost Accounting: 1+ years of cost accounting and inventory experience.
  • Technical Savvy: Advanced Excel skills are required. Direct experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) is a major plus.
  • Soft Skills: A collaborative, growth-oriented mindset with the ability to exercise independent judgment and meet tight close deadlines.

Where and How Much:

  • Target Compensation: $85K – $100K, bonus opportunity.
  • Location: 100% In-Office, Denver, CO (Northfield area).
  • Benefits: 3 weeks PTO, 11 paid holidays, 4% 401(k) match, HSA/FSA options, and standard medical/dental/vision coverage.
