Why this job – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT:
This is not a back-office Senior Accountant role. You'll own the full accounting cycle for two entities supporting 30+ retail stores and e-commerce operations across the US and Canada.
You'll lead month-end close, build retail KPI reporting, partner with leadership, and support board-level reporting. Beyond close, the role is highly operational — analyzing margins, visiting stores, and helping to drive performance. This role plays a key part in driving process improvements and enhancing reporting capabilities. It offers strong visibility, meaningful ownership, and the opportunity to bring forward new ideas and make an impact.
What You'll Actually Do:
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for two retail entities
- Own full-cycle accounting, including complex balance sheet reconciliations in a multi-unit retail environment
- Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliations across store locations
- Manage lease accounting and occupancy-related obligations for retail stores
- Develop KPI reporting and present financial insights to leadership and the Board
- Partner with Retail and E-Commerce Directors on budgeting, forecasting, labor planning, and store performance analysis
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Proven experience leading month-end close and preparing financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems; D365 a plus
- Retail, e-commerce, or inventory accounting experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable partnering with cross-functional leaders and supporting operational decision-making
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working in large datasets
- Self-starter mentality and a Creative problem solver
Where and How Much:
- Target Compensation $95K - $115K DOE
- Louisville, CO – M–Th in office, Fridays work from home
