Why this job – SEC REPORTING & TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING MANAGER:

The SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager is the cornerstone of our client's financial integrity and public transparency. In this role, you will own the preparation and compliance of all SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) while serving as the internal subject matter expert on U.S. GAAP and PCAOB standards. Beyond recurring filings, you will lead technical research for complex transactions—such as business combinations and equity-based compensation—and play a vital role in M&A due diligence and integration. This is an essential position for a CPA who thrives on technical accuracy, process optimization, and strategic alignment within a publicly traded technology pioneer.

What You'll Actually Do:

  • Prepare and oversee quarterly and annual SEC filings, ensuring precise MD&A disclosures and footnotes, including XBRL/iXBRL tagging.
  • Evaluate and document accounting conclusions for non-routine transactions like share-based payment modifications and new accounting standards.
  • Provide critical accounting support for mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, purchase accounting, and opening balance sheet preparation.
  • Partner with the VP of Finance to act as the primary point of contact for external auditors on all SEC and technical reporting matters.
  • Oversee the accounting and disclosure for equity-based compensation, including stock options, RSUs, and PSUs.
  • Maintain and optimize SOX-compliant internal controls and financial reporting systems to ensure airtight governance.
  • Monitor emerging SEC developments and FASB updates to assess and implement their impact on the organization.

To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required; Active CPA is required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience, with a heavy emphasis on public accounting (Big 4 or national firm highly preferred).
  • Proven "hands-on" experience with SEC reporting, U.S. GAAP, and technical accounting memoranda.
  • Strong background in M&A accounting, post-acquisition integration, and complex equity transactions.
  • Exceptional ability to interpret authoritative guidance and clearly document complex accounting conclusions.
  • A high degree of accuracy and critical thinking skills, with the ability to manage strict deadlines in a fast-paced, publicly traded environment.

Where and How Much:

  • Target Compensation: $130K to $145K
  • Hybrid Schedule (2 days remote) Centennial, CO
  • 401(k) with a 4% match
  • 100% company-paid Medical coverage for employees and their families + $500 FSA contribution
  • Generous PTO policy
