Why this job – TAX MANAGER:
The Tax Manager acts as a vital bridge between high-net-worth clients and the firm’s wealth advisors, providing sophisticated tax compliance and strategic planning. This role is responsible for leading client relationships, preparing and reviewing complex income tax returns, and delivering actionable tax projections. You will guide a dedicated team of tax professionals, ensuring timely and accurate service while maintaining the highest technical standards. This is an ideal role for an experienced tax professional who values high-level client advisory work and team mentorship without the burnout of a traditional public accounting environment.
What You'll Actually Do:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and businesses regarding tax compliance and strategy.
- Prepare, review, and sign complex tax returns; create quarterly estimates and tax projections.
- Mentor and coach a team of Senior Tax Associates, Tax Associates, and Tax Support Specialists.
- Communicate complex tax concepts to clients and wealth advisors in a concise, understandable fashion.
- Perform tax research, resolve tax notices, and stay current on evolving tax laws to advise clients on their financial impacts.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to firm policies while identifying opportunities to streamline workflows.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required; Master’s in Tax is a plus.
- 5+ years of public accounting (or equivalent) experience.
- CPA or EA required.
- Experience with high-net worth clients.
- Individual and Business return experience (1040, 1120, 1120-S).
- Strong tax code knowledge; experience with CCH Axcess preferred.
- Superior communication skills, exceptional organizational abilities, and a detail-oriented mindset.
- Proven ability to handle a high volume of activities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Where and How Much:
- Target Compensation: $105-$125K, 15% bonus
- Denver, CO (Hybrid schedule)
- 3 weeks PTO, medical, 401(k) with match
